Listenning to this makes me happy... a bit like prozac... only without any of the side effects. THey should play this on the radio instead of Lady GaGa and Nickelback.

Careful with the volume for these ones:

Final Fantasy series were kids' games compared to this series:

You have to finish this hard game to understand the emotional value behind this song (watching the YT vids doesnt count lol). Outsiders simply cannot understand:

Star wars Republic Commando had a great soundtrack, and its all thanks to them not recycling the movie soundtrack. (nothing wrong with it, its just boring after a while to hear excerpts from Duel of the fates, The imperial March, Battle of the heroes, and the rest in every fucking star wars game)

Ozar Midrashim from Soul reaver is good to.

So's Ariel's Lament.

Overland is also very good music for just wandering around.

So's OVerland Battle

Oblivion's main theme is pretty good.

And of course, the endless cacophony of halts! From daggerfall is the sound of escapable computer crashing doom approaching.

I always loved the end credit theme from the original Starfox.

Plus these gems from the Twisted Metal series:

Drop Dead

The Big Leap

Also, though Twisted Metal III was a steaming pile of horrible as far as games go, there was one musical highlight that always cracked me up: A mashup of White Zombie's More Human Than Human and Jingle Bells, used in the North Pole level. Enjoy!

Konami, Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Squaresoft and Sunsoft were awesome at making great music for their games back in the old 8-bit/16-bit days. I think most of the console classics were composed by their staffs.

Easily one of the best games of the 8-bit era by anybody's standard:
